A Game of Ancient Kings
I am utterly infatuated with ancient history. All those bygone days and long forgotten ways are truly fascinating to behold. If the magic of digital creation allows me to capture even a fraction of that beauty it will all be worth it.
This is an upscaled recreation based on the item displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York that has been attributed to the reign of Amenemhat IV during the Middle Kingdom.
Hounds and Jackals
Hounds and Jackals is an Egyptian board game dating back to around 2,000bce. Not much is known about the game itself aside from its popularity during the Middle Kingdom. The game features a total of ten pieces consisting of either the heads of hounds or jackals moving around a grid of 58 holes. It is assumed that the game was played with dice though none have been found with existent sets.
